Town Center Community is enhancing the Noonday Creek Trail with new public art installations, turning the trail into an Art Walk destination. Two new murals and the first Tiny Doors ATL installation outside Atlanta’s perimeter are part of this effort to integrate culture along the 2.8-mile path.
This fall, artists Kelsey Wishik and Leigh Ann Culver are contributing new murals to the trail. Wishik’s mural, Radiant World, features bold color blocks and floral patterns on a bridge support beam, intended to symbolize growth and transformation. Culver’s Stained Glass mural brings panels and candle imagery under a bridge, designed to create a calm atmosphere.
On October 25, the trail will also debut its first Tiny Doors ATL installation by artist Karen Anderson Singer. Known for her seven-inch doors across Atlanta, Singer selected a site on Noonday Creek Trail for her first standalone piece outside the city. The artwork combines natural elements with playful detail to engage visitors.
Other art projects already in place include the “Convergence” mural by Drake Arnold at the I-75 bridge (2022), Chimney Swift Tower designed with Birds Georgia to support migratory birds, Art Hatch—an annual egg-shaped art collaboration featuring work from Cobb County students—and Fence Art Gallery, a traveling exhibit curated by Marietta Arts Council at Aviation Park every February.
Tracy Styf, executive director of Town Center Community, said: “Public art has the power to connect people to the places they live, work, and explore. By incorporating murals, sculptures, and interactive pieces along the trail, we’re creating opportunities for residents and visitors to experience art as part of everyday life.”
Cobb County schools enrolled a total of 115,076 students during the 2022-23 school year according to state data. Enrollment increased by less than 0.1% compared to the previous year. White students made up 33% of Cobb County’s student body in that period (https://www.gadoe.org/).
