Kennesaw State University’s Esports team achieved first place in two divisions at the Peach Belt Conference Championships held during the Florence Esports Festival in Florence, South Carolina, in November. The event featured tournaments across Overwatch, Rocket League, and Marvel Rivals leagues over two days. KSU was represented by 25 student-athletes.

In the Overwatch Champions Division Final, KSU’s team—known as the Owls—defeated Columbus State to claim victory as the top-seeded team. The university also retained its Rocket League Masters Division title for a second consecutive year by remaining undefeated throughout tournament play.

Dylan Taussig received recognition as the Rocket League tournament Most Valuable Player for a second year in a row.

The Florence Esports Festival is organized annually by the Florence Parks and Recreation Department with support from the Peach Belt Conference. The festival includes both competitive and casual gaming activities for students, families, and members of the gaming community.

“This was an amazing experience that taught us not only what it takes to be great but also how to have fun while working towards that goal,” freshman Mark James Burnett II said. “Thank you to everyone who was able to put together such a great event; we can’t wait for the next!”
