Kennesaw State University announced on Apr. 6 that its third annual Giving Day raised $400,786 to support university programs, student scholarships, and faculty research. The event saw participation from 2,116 contributors.
The university said the outcome demonstrates the growing culture of philanthropy at Kennesaw State and marks another successful year for the initiative.
“Year three of KSU Giving Day has solidified this event as a vital tradition for our Owl community,” said Lance Burchett, Vice President for University Advancement and CEO of the KSU Foundation. “To see this level of participation for the third consecutive year proves that our donors are deeply invested in the long-term success of KSU. We are incredibly grateful to the over 2,000 individuals who chose to support our mission.”
Gifts came from students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members across Georgia and 35 other states. The event also saw first-time international participation from Newport, Wales. More than $195,000 in challenge grants and matching funds were provided by benefactors this year—an increase from $140,000 in 2025—allowing donors to maximize their impact across more than 170 funds and initiatives at the university.
Giving Day included both online giving opportunities and campus events such as activations across campuses and an Evening Scrappy Hour at Mickey Dunn Stadium where supporters gathered.
“The momentum we are building is truly inspiring,” said Savannah Lockman, Director of Annual Giving. “Giving Day 2026 has shown that when the Owl community unites, we can achieve incredible things for our students. Every donation, regardless of size, contributes to the ongoing excellence of Kennesaw State.”
The annual day is part of The Campaign for Kennesaw State—a multi-year fundraising effort aiming to secure $200 million by 2027.
