The Georgia Department of Community Affairs has announced that its Georgia Mortgage Assistance (GMA) program will stop accepting new applications on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The program, funded through the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), has supported nearly 12,000 Georgians in keeping their homes and prevented more than 1,600 foreclosures across the state.

All application packages must be completed and submitted through the Georgia Mortgage Assistance application portal at GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov by the deadline. Customer Service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer general questions about the program.

Applicants needing help with their applications should contact Customer Service before March 13, 2026, to schedule an appointment for support either by phone or in person at the Atlanta office of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Applications must still be submitted by March 31, 2026, to be considered for assistance.

Contact information for applicants includes email ([email protected]), phone numbers (770-806-2100 or toll free at 1-877-519-4443), and mail address:

Georgia Mortgage Assistance
c/o Georgia Dept. of Community Affairs
60 Executive Park South, NE
Atlanta, GA 30329-2231

Applicants are advised to keep copies of all submitted materials and proof of delivery or receipt for their records.

The GMA is a federal program with limited funding. Not all eligible homeowners may receive assistance before funds run out, and submitting an application does not guarantee approval or funding availability. More details can be found at GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov.
