Georgia Highlands College and Kennesaw State University have announced an expansion of their LINK partnership, which aims to create more transfer pathways and academic opportunities for students. The agreement was formalized by Sarah Coakley, provost of Georgia Highlands College, and Ivan Pulinkala, Kennesaw State’s provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, during a ceremony at GHC.

The partnership began in 2024 with a focus on teacher education pathways. It now includes options for associate, bachelor’s, and master’s level programs. This expansion will allow Georgia Highlands students to transfer to Kennesaw State with minimal loss of credits.

“Expanding LINK creates seamless pathways for GHC students to continue their education at KSU, our largest transfer partner, so they lose fewer credits and finish faster,” said Coakley. “This expansion opens the partnership to more academic pathways and degrees, establishes clear admission routes, and strengthens collaboration to support students through degree completion.”

Under the new agreement, GHC students can apply course credits earned at Kennesaw State toward an associate degree while working on a bachelor’s degree at KSU. The structured pathways are designed to align coursework between the two institutions and help students complete their degrees more efficiently.

The initiative is intended to support student success, affordability, and workforce development in Georgia.

“We are proud to continue our partnership with Georgia Highlands,” Pulinkala said. “By aligning our programs and working closely with GHC, we are accelerating students’ progress toward high‑demand careers while strengthening the talent pipeline that supports Georgia’s economic growth.”

The agreement also allows GHC students to apply to Kennesaw State without paying an application fee. They will have access to various resources at KSU such as campus tours, program-specific information sessions, participation in job fairs hosted by GHC where KSU is present, free tickets to sporting events at KSU, and use of the Bagwell College of Education’s Teacher Resource and Activity Corner (TRAC) for those pursuing education pathways.
