The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) have announced the participants for the 2025-2026 Georgia Supportive Housing Institute. This initiative brings together five teams, along with a conceptual team made up of individual representatives, to focus on developing affordable and supportive housing across the state.

Now in its second year, the Georgia Supportive Housing Institute is a CSH program aimed at strengthening multi-family property development in Georgia. The program covers topics such as design, service delivery, funding, and operations.

According to DCA officials, the inaugural class led to proposals for 688 new housing units statewide, including 257 designated as supportive housing units. Laura Ann Holland, DCA Director of Strategy and Key Initiatives, said, “DCA is proud to be a part of a program that empowers Georgia’s developers to create safe, affordable, and supportive housing that meet communities’ needs. Viewing the results of the inaugural class, we know this new set of developers will also gain knowledge that they will use to help vulnerable populations attain safe, affordable housing.”

Deirdre Bolden, CSH Southeast Director, commented on the ongoing partnership: “We are enthusiastic about building upon the success and momentum of last year’s Georgia Supportive Housing Institute. Thanks to our continued partnership with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, we can support a new cohort of teams committed to increasing supportive housing across the state. Georgia’s housing challenges require solutions that are both strategic and community driven. The Institute brings together teams from across the state to create supportive housing models tailored to the unique needs of their regions. It is an honor to design and learn alongside teams committed to building sustainable, high-quality housing that meets people where they are and helps them thrive.”

Upon completing the institute’s curriculum, participating teams become eligible for CSH’s Community Investment loan products designed for pre-development stages. They may also apply for DCA’s Housing Tax Credit Program or an anticipated Supportive Housing Notice of Funding Opportunity; participation in the institute provides bonus points during application scoring.

Teams taking part in this year’s institute include:

– Columbus Team: Led by New Horizons Behavioral Health with partners such as Southeast Housing Partners LLC and United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley.
– Dahlonega and Forsyth County Team: Led by Landbridge Development LLC with Resource Housing Group Inc., Gateway Management, Family First Villages among others.
– Canton Team: Led by TBG Residential in collaboration with MUST Ministries and Canton Housing Authority.
– Atlanta Team 1: Led by 3Keys Inc., involving Tapestry Development.
– Atlanta Team 2: Led by The Vecino Group with Mercy Care and Saint Vincent DePaul.

Additionally, individuals from organizations like Dominium, Quest CDC, Housing Plus, Wellroot, and Step Up are participating as a conceptual team.

CSH describes itself as a national nonprofit focused on expanding affordable supportive housing through advocacy and investment since its founding in 1991. According to its website (www.csh.org), it has helped create over 467,600 units nationwide while distributing more than $1.5 billion in loans and grants.
