Fairgoers attending the 2025 North Georgia State Fair at Jim R. Miller Park will see a new traffic pattern intended to improve access to parking and reduce congestion in nearby neighborhoods. The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office has reconfigured traffic flow around the park.

A major change affects Callaway Road, located on the western side of the park. Access from Callaway Road to Al Bishop Drive will be restricted to local traffic only, with sheriff’s deputies enforcing the restriction and signage indicating that fair parking is not available from Callaway Road.

Visitors arriving via Powder Springs Road and Austell Road will be directed onto County Services Parkway for entry into the fair parking lots.

Other aspects of the plan include dedicating two of three lanes on Al Bishop Drive for westbound vehicles heading toward parking areas, with deputies stationed along County Services Parkway to guide traffic. A shuttle service will operate from the Cobb County Safety Village near the parking lots, taking visitors to the front gate. The Uber and Lyft pickup/drop-off area will also be located at the Safety Village.

The Cobb Department of Transportation’s Traffic Management Center will monitor and adjust traffic signals at key intersections during fair hours in an effort to prevent long backups on Callaway Road.

Parking for this year’s event is free. The North Georgia State Fair runs from September 18-28 at Jim R. Miller Park Fairgrounds.
