Cobb County responds to governor’s order on Superior Court Clerk

Following the release of Governor Kemp’s Executive Order regarding the Clerk of the Superior Court, Cobb County issued a brief statement on August 29, 2025. The county said, “We respect the Governor’s order. Since the Clerk of Superior Court is a constitutional officer and not under the authority of the Board of Commissioners, we will not be commenting further. Our focus remains on ensuring that county services continue without interruption.”

Cobb County schools have seen minimal change in enrollment numbers recently. During the 2022-23 school year, enrollment increased by less than 0.1% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Georgia Department of Education (https://www.gadoe.org/). The total number of students enrolled in Cobb County schools during this period was 115,076 (https://www.gadoe.org/). White students made up 33% of the student body in Cobb County schools for that academic year (https://www.gadoe.org/).
