Cobb County was recognized as a technology leader at the 2025 Technology Innovation Showcase awards ceremony on October 2, 2025. The annual event celebrates projects and partnerships that are changing government technology in Georgia.

The event focuses on technical excellence and the practical use of technology to benefit Georgia residents. Cobb County received recognition for launching findhelp.cobbcounty.gov, a digital platform that helps residents access social services and community resources more easily.

The platform was launched between June 3 and September 30, 2024, using funds from an ARPA grant. It serves as an online hub for residents seeking mental health support, housing, food assistance, healthcare, employment, and education services.

Chairwoman Lisa Cupid initially requested an online mental health resource. The project expanded through collaboration with Cobb Collaborative and Cobb Douglas Public Health. These partners developed a platform that makes it easier for residents to find help quickly and privately.

Key features of the platform include:

– Around-the-clock access to verified resources from any device
– A search engine with filters for eligibility, service type, and location
– Regular updates to ensure information is accurate
– Data tools that help local leaders allocate resources based on current needs
– The ability to track whether referrals lead to service delivery
– Options for residents to enroll in assistance independently

Cobb County used a 17-week plan to implement the project. This included planning, enabling the platform, and reaching out to the community through various media channels.

Since its launch on September 30, 2024, findhelp.cobbcounty.gov recorded over 18,700 searches by January 2025. More than half of these were related to housing needs; food, financial, and health assistance were also frequently searched. This data helps local leaders identify urgent needs and improve support systems throughout Cobb County.

Cobb County intends to expand the platform by adding more resources and exploring new ways to make access easier for residents.
