Cobb County is offering a variety of winter events in 2025, including holiday crafts, markets, and family activities at locations throughout the county. Residents can find additional seasonal events on the county’s official events calendar and registration sites.
Among the highlights is “Santa Paws,” where dog owners can take photos with Santa from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Cobb County Water System Lab in Marietta. Registration details are to be announced.
The North Cobb Regional Library will host a Handmade Holidays Craft Series on Fridays—Nov. 7, 14, Dec. 12, and 19—from 10 to 11 a.m., featuring weekly craft projects such as holiday sweater ornaments and glass paint swirl ornaments. No registration is required for these sessions.
At East Cobb Library, a Holiday Gift Wrap Station will be available from Dec. 1 to Dec. 23 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., providing free wrapping supplies while they last.
Switzer Library will hold a Holiday Teddy Bear Tea Party on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 3:30 p.m., with limited spots available and an invitation for attendees to donate new children’s books.
Gritters Library will bring back its Holiday Craft-a-thon on Thursday, Dec. 18 from 3:30 to 5 p.m., allowing participants to create festive crafts.
Mountain View Library invites residents to participate in a Winter Holiday Decor Swap on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where donated holiday decorations can be exchanged or picked up without requirement of donation.
The Cobb Civic Center will host the Holiday Artisan Market from Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7, featuring handmade gifts and décor by local artisans and including the Merry Marketplace Youth Market on Saturday.
Mable House Arts Center will present several signature holiday events on Saturday, Nov. 22—including Mable House Lights the Night with tree lighting and an artist market—and offer workshops for both youth and adults throughout late November and December.
Other venues such as The Art Place – Mountain View, The Art Station – Big Shanty, Sewell Mill Cultural Center, Ward Recreation Center, Fair Oaks Recreation Center, and Lost Mountain Park are also holding various workshops and themed activities for different age groups during November and December.
Cobb County schools saw enrollment increase by less than one-tenth of one percent in the most recent school year compared to the previous year (https://www.gadoe.org/). The district enrolled a total of over 115,000 students in that period (https://www.gadoe.org/), with white students making up about one-third of the student body (https://www.gadoe.org/).
